Reprinting From Old Negative

Reprinting From Old Negative

For this project, I photographed a negative from a photo made by my customer of the original photograph.  I converted the negative image into a positive, made some exposure adjustments, removed dust spots an interpreted the image as best I could to recreate the original image.  I printed the image on fine art paper, again to replicate the feel of the original.

Reconstructing a Moment

Reconstructing a Moment

This project involved reconstruction as well as restoration.  As always, the goal is to reproduce the effect for which the original image was intended.    In this case, extensive physical damage to the original required reconstruction of damaged image elements.  This included reconstructing of a face, hands, clothing and the background.  While not precisely replicating the original image, there is a close equivalency of effect to that of the original image.
